Die ersten, rosa bl\u00fchenden Flaschenb\u00e4ume tauchen auf. Frauen und Familien beim Picknick am Meer. Die Kinder rennen schreiend hinter unseren Fahrzeugen her und winken. Strahlend helle Sandd\u00fcnen, die sich an einen Berg schmiegen. Tiefer im Landesinneren wird \u00fcberall gebaut. height: 336px;\" \/> <\/a> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>\n<p>Zwei Tage lang werden wir \u00fcber Bergpfade wandern, die nur ein Kamel begehen kann. Nun bringt uns unser Fahrzeug h\u00f6her und h\u00f6her, wir vertiefen uns in die Berge. Die sandige Stra\u00dfe wird immer schlechter, das Auto ruckelt vor sich hin. Rechts von uns \u00f6ffnet sich das Tal, w\u00e4hrend wir immer weiter steigen. Langsam verschiebt sich die Landschaft. Wo sind die Drachenblutb\u00e4ume, der Grund unseres Kommens? Die begehrten Exemplare kommen erst ab f\u00fcnfhundert Metern H\u00f6he vor. Die erste Sichtung wird ausgiebig fotografiert. Ein armer Drachenbaum, der sich ins Gestein krallt und von uns sofort umringt wird. Davon wird es noch mehr, noch weitaus mehr geben, aber das wissen wir zu dem Zeitpunkt noch nicht.<\/p>\n<p>Auf 600 Metern H\u00f6he machen wir Mittagspause. Wir befinden uns im Wadi di Negehen und wollen ins Hajhir-Gebirge, zum Adho-Di-Meleh-Pass. Es ist inzwischen Mittag und weit \u00fcber drei\u00dfig Grad. Keine optimalen Voraussetzungen, um unsere Wanderung zu beginnen, also beschlie\u00dfen wir, die Zeit auszusitzen. Die Fahrzeuge halten an. Das Kamel h\u00e4lt an. Ein jeder sucht sich einen der sp\u00e4rlichen, schattigen Pl\u00e4tze im Schatten eines alten Baumes. So gut wir k\u00f6nnen, schmiegen wir uns an den Felsvorsprung, der uns etwas von der Sonne abschirmt. Proviant wird ausgepackt, Decken ausgebreitet. Einheimische Hirten, \u00fcber uns auf den Felsen sitzend, betrachten uns mit ihren tiefdunklen Augen. Sie scheinen mit der Umgebung zu verschmelzen, geh\u00f6ren hierher. Um sie herum turnen Ziegen, die hin und wieder ein neugieriges &#8222;M\u00e4h&#8220; von sich geben. Es wird Tee und Datteln gereicht. Wir essen unsere Lunchpakete auf, die aus etwas Brot und K\u00e4se, Gurken und Karotten bestehen. Immer wieder sch\u00fcttle ich kleine, schwarze Kugeln von der Decke, auf der wir essen, bis mir auff\u00e4llt, dass solange die Ziegen \u00fcber unseren K\u00f6pfen sind, wird es auch diese &#8222;Kugeln&#8220; Schon bald sehe ich unsere rastende Gruppe unter dem ausladenden Baum weit unter mir, ganz klein. Daf\u00fcr \u00f6ffnet sich ein Ausblick auf das Tal. Stellenweise finde ich gr\u00fcne, abgesplitterte Steine, die wie Kuchen aussehen und die ich so gerne mit nach Hause nehmen w\u00fcrde. Es ist verboten, irgend etwas von Sokotra mit nach Hause zu nehmen. tut gut, sich ein wenig von der Gruppe zu entfernen. Ich war schon immer der Mensch mit den leer gehenden, sozialen Batterien, die abseits vom Trubel wieder aufgeladen werden m\u00fcssen. Bei meinem Aufstieg ignoriere ich die Hitze. Ich bin hier, um was zu sehen. Mich \u00fcber den &#8222;Wanderweg&#8220; freuend w\u00fcrde ich wohl weiter gehen, doch der Weg endet in jemandes Behausung. Ein improvisiertes Gatter und aufgeh\u00e4ngte Textilien weisen auf eine eingerichtete Naturh\u00f6hle hin. Versch\u00e4mt trete ich den R\u00fcckzug an.<\/p>\n<p>Die restliche Zeit verbringe ich mit meinen Leidensgenossen. Wir tauschen unsere Lebensrealit\u00e4ten aus. Wer bist du, was machst du? Jetzt, nach zwei Tagen zusammen, f\u00e4llt es mir auch leichter mit dem Smalltalk. Um halb zwei packen wir zusammen, die Wanderung beginnt. Kasia startet gut durch, ist schnell bei den ersten mit dabei. Doch die ersten zehn Minuten sind die schlimmsten. Die Hitze. Das Gewicht des notwendigen Wassers in meinem Rucksack. Die Steigung. Die Steine, die unter meinen F\u00fc\u00dfen nachgeben. Warum tue ich mir das an. In diesen Momenten habe ich keinen Blick mehr f\u00fcr die Sch\u00f6nheit der Insel. Ich wollte ja die Gegend unbedingt wandernd erkunden, obwohl die Option bestand, sich bequem von A nach B kutschieren zu lassen (kleiner Tipp einer kl\u00fcger gewordenen Reisenden: macht es nicht. Wandernd sieht man mehr&#8230;). Ich erw\u00e4ge ernsthaft die M\u00f6glichkeit, mich ab morgen mit dem Auto hinauf fahren zu lassen. Zugegeben, ich beneide in diesem Moment die Menschen mit ihren gro\u00dfen Kameras um den Hals. Sie sind unhandlich und sperrig und ich habe mich dagegen entschieden, doch daf\u00fcr werden meine Mitreisenden die Bilder ihres Lebens haben. Als also die besten Bilder im Kasten sind, setzen wir unseren Weg durchs Geb\u00fcsch fort. Die Strecke ist steinig und leicht absch\u00fcssig und in dieser wilden, nur von Hirten bewohnten Welt gibt es so etwas wie Wege kaum. Den Weg muss sich jeder alleine suchen. Steine rutschen unter den F\u00fc\u00dfen. Gro\u00dfe Steinbrocken liegen in der Landschaft verstreut. Schlie\u00dflich sagt jemand: wir sind da. Doch noch k\u00f6nnen wir unsere Zelte nicht aufbauen, wir warten auf das Kamel. Dort sind die Zelte, der Schlafsack. Es ist k\u00fchl geworden, k\u00fchl und windig. Wind zerrt an der Kleidung. Die warme Jacke ist bei Zelten und Schlafsack auf dem Kamel.<\/p>\n<p>Unsere zweite Campingfl\u00e4che ist sch\u00f6n geschlossen, umringt von hohen Bergen. Kleine, mehr oder weniger ebene Grasfl\u00e4chen sind zwar sp\u00e4rlich in der Landschaft verteilt, aber vorhanden. Wir verteilen uns in der Landschaft. Ich suche mir einen Zeltplatz weiter abseits vom Trubel. Das Zelt wird so ausgerichtet, dass ich in etwa eben schlafen kann, denn nichts ist schlimmer, als die Nacht \u00fcber um Gleichgewicht zu ringen. Die Zelte sind fix aufgebaut, es ist immer eine helfende Hand eines Guides zur Stelle, die ungefragt mit anpacken, wenn sie sehen, dass man Hilfe braucht.<\/p>\n<p>Die Sonne sinkt, die Berge liegen still da. Der Gebetsgesang einer der Guides hallt von den Felsw\u00e4nden. In der D\u00e4mmerung kommen wir zusammen; auf einer gro\u00dfen, auf dem Boden ausgebreiteten Matte werden Reisegeschichten ausgetauscht. Unsere Guides haben bereits das Feuer entfacht und der Koch bereitet das Abendessen zu. Es gibt Pasta mit Thunfisch und So\u00dfe, und den obligatorischen Tee. Nach dem Essen bekommt eine jede ein St\u00fcckchen Schokolade anl\u00e4sslich des Weltfrauentages. Es ist k\u00fchl, wir haben uns gem\u00fctlich auf der Matte ausgestreckt und einer der Guides reicht mir eine seiner universellen Decken. Ich nehme das muffig riechende Ding dankbar an und lege es mir in den R\u00fccken. So l\u00e4sst es sich aushalten und mit den Blick zu den Sternen den ruhigen Worten Gertis lauschen. Doch wir sind schon bald m\u00fcde. &#8222;Lesen wir morgen Abend weiter?&#8220; Fragt Gerti und schlie\u00dft das Buch. Mein Zelt wartet auf mich. Und meine abendlichen Reinigungsrituale: die Z\u00e4hne werden im Geb\u00fcsch zwischen den Felsen geputzt, der Mund mit Flaschenwasser gesp\u00fclt. F\u00fcr Privatsph\u00e4re sorgt eine durch den Regen geformte Vertiefung im Boden ein St\u00fcck weit vom Zelt entfernt. Das versprochene Waschwasser im Kanister ist irgendwie nicht angekommen.<\/p>\n<p>Der Mond h\u00e4ngt tief und strahlt halogen \u00fcber den Bergspitzen. Wind frischt auf, jagt wei\u00dfe W\u00f6lkchen \u00fcber die Berge. Die Wolken werden immer mehr, schleichen wie Geister zwischen Gebirgsh\u00e4ngen, bleiben um mein Zelt herum kurz stehen. Die Zeltplane ist feucht. Das ausgeh\u00e4ngte Handtuch hat keine Chance, zu trocknen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Nacht ist lebendig. Grillen und sonstige Insekten sind jetzt wach. Es ist mehr von ihnen zu h\u00f6ren als am Tage. Seltsame Vogelstimmen, Ger\u00e4usche, wie Schritte drau\u00dfen vor dem Zelt.
